Butterfly Valley
Butterfly Valley is one of the most striking places near Fethiye, with its unique views and peaceful atmosphere. This rocky, pine-covered valley is home to around 100 species of butterflies, forming a protected oasis where time seems to stand still. The valley features olive, pomegranate, lemon, orange, grape, peach, apricot, oleander, and laurel trees. With its crystal-clear sea, sparkling pebble beach, small waterfall, and decorative flowers, the valley is a paradise on Earth and a meeting point for travelers from all over the world. Magnificent nature, an azure sea between the rocks, wonderful greenery, and endless tranquility – all of this awaits you in the panorama we'll head to during our Photogenic tour.
Kayaköy Ghost Town
The deserted ruins of what was once a bustling town lie against the backdrop of the Taurus Mountains, close to world-famous beaches and the beautiful village of Ölüdeniz. Although the roofless stone buildings and narrow streets, worn by time, look ancient, this is actually a modern ruin, abandoned for political reasons in the 1920s.
In Lycian times, the town was called Karmylassos. When the Greeks occupied it, they renamed it Levissi. The first mention of Levissi dates back to the 14th century and belongs to the Italian traveler Sanudo.
This is a place with an incredible atmosphere and powerful energy – a town where every square meter is filled with fascinating history and valuable facts. Kayaköy has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Friendship and Peace Village, which only underscores its uniqueness.
Lycian Rock Tombs in Fethiye
These ancient tombs are the grand resting places of the Lycians. Carved into a cliffside overlooking the town, they'll make sure you never forget Fethiye's history.
During the day, they're bathed in sunlight, glowing orange above your head. In the evenings, spotlights give them a striking glow that catches your eye no matter when you're there. The tombs were built around 350 BC by the Lycians, who lived in this region of Turkey thousands of years ago. It's a highly atmospheric, even mystical place. But missing it while in Fethiye would truly be unforgivable 🙂
