Set inside a protected forest reserve about an hour from Pattaya, Khao Kheow Open Zoo is one of Thailand's largest wildlife parks. Its roughly 800 hectares of greenery, lakes and pastures give animals from Africa, Asia and Australia spacious, natural-looking habitats instead of cramped enclosures.
This full-day outing is a favourite with families. Hand-feed a giraffe with its surprisingly long tongue, toss treats to hungry hippos, spot a rare albino kangaroo and meet endangered Eld's deer. A Russian-speaking guide accompanies the group throughout the day.
On Mondays and Fridays the lemur island is not included; on other days the lemur visit is part of the programme. The zoo may change its show schedule. Child tickets apply to children 90–120 cm tall; children under 90 cm travel free without their own seat.
