In 2000, poultry tycoon Panya Choititawan, one of Thailand's best-known chicken farm owners, built himself a palace on roughly 13 hectares of land stretching from Sukhumvit Road down to the sea. Locals soon nicknamed it the Chicken King's Palace, and Baan Sukhawadee remains one of the most unusual estates on the Eastern Seaboard.
European-style mansions sit among Thai and Western gardens filled with sculptures, while peacocks wander freely between the pavilions. Golf carts shuttle visitors from building to building, so even on a hot afternoon you can see everything without exhausting walks. As dusk falls, special lighting turns the grounds into a glowing fairy-tale park.
The tour runs every afternoon into the evening. When booking, you choose between a version with the evening show and dinner or a simpler visit without them.
