In central Thailand there is a town where monkeys are not visitors but residents. In Lopburi, hundreds of long-tailed macaques roam the streets, climb over rooftops and lounge among ancient temple ruins, sharing daily life with the townspeople.
This full-day excursion goes well beyond the monkeys. You will visit a revered shrine said to hold one of the Buddha's footprints, a monastery where monks care for seriously ill patients, and the dazzling Mirror Temple, whose walls, pillars and ceilings sparkle with countless tiny mirror fragments. It is a day of beauty, faith and confronting reality, the kind of trip that stays with you long after you get back to the hotel.
The order and length of stops may be adjusted by the organiser. Shoulders and knees must be covered at all temples. Guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs may be refused participation. Keep food, sunglasses and small items secure around the monkeys.
Transfer included: we pick you up at your hotel. We'll confirm the pickup time after you book.
