Slender, silver and fitted with a needle-like beak, the garfish is one of the liveliest fish in the Gulf of Thailand. Once hooked it races across the surface and often leaps clear of the water, so every catch turns into a small battle. It is a favourite target for sport anglers and also makes a tasty meal.
